My Delightful Art ~ AQHA Appendix Mare, Westfalen Warmblood Broodmare

Leased to Avalon Equine!

My Delightful Art – barn name Sienna - is a beautiful 2008 registered AQHA Appendix Quarter Horse mare.  Her sire the legendary AQHA stallion Artful Investment, and her mother is a Thoroughbred mare My Maya who comes from Bold Ruler.  Proven easy broodmare, dressage, and trail ridden. Lifetime USEF and USDF registration.  View Sienna's pedigree here.  Scroll down for photos below.  Offered for sale or lease.

I bred her as a maiden mare in 2016 and she took the first time via AI with no short-cycling or other measures.  She had an un-complicated pregnancy and an 10 minute un-complicated delivery.  She has been the perfect mother from the moment her filly was born!  She seems to love mothering, and was so easy to breed and keep, broodmare might be her calling!

She is registered AQHA and with her Artful Investment bloodline, she would produce a very nice AQHA baby.

I bred her to the Hanoverian stallion Allerbester that is approved with the Westfalen registry.   She and her filly were presented to the German Westfalen breed inspector in Sept. 2017, and her filly was approved with a score of 7.4 to be registered Westfalen.  The ONLY Reason Sienna is not in the Westfalen mare book is that they do not allow AQHA.  However, both Westfalen inspectors were very complimentary of her and there was no question to her ability to produce a fancy warmblood filly who is approved and registered Westfalen!  Her filly is Aurora Luna Rosa.

As a riding horse, Sienna is a sensitive mare (read sensitive not spooky), and requires a soft rider.  With a calm and secure rider to give her confidence, she will give you whatever you ask.  No buck, bolt, rear etc. at all.  Solid as can be, but, due to her sensitive nature I would only consider an intermediate or better rider of any age.  She is a great dressage horse with solid walk, trot canter transitions, leg yield, shoulder in, turn on the haunches, etc.  She does great on the trail and seems to really enjoy adventures.  We have ridden the Trinity River, Decatur Grasslands, and a few other places.  I can ride her bareback with a halter!  After not having ridden her for 9 months when she was pregnant, I hopped on with baby at her side and she went as though we had not missed a day.  I have jumped her over a few fences for fun that were about 2’ with no issue, but she has not had any formal jump training.

Coggins, vaccines, worming, farrier, dental, everything is up to date.   Lives in or out, prefers to be out 24/7 with a shed or shelter.

The only reason she is offered for sale is my own personal finances.  I am open to questions, vet check and visits.  Buyers will be checked by me as Sienna going to a good home is imperative!  Sale price $3,500 Negotiable to the right home.  Lease price open to discussion.
